  • Senior Designer
    Custom Fabrics
  • Joined Momentum in 2007
  • Surface Pattern Design
    Syracuse University

At an early age, Kristen’s passion for color & design stemmed from her Mother who surrounded her with vibrant Marimekko patterned bedding and wall art of the 70’s, The inspiring environment led her to color Altair pattern design books using magic markers in unbridled saturated hues.

Beginning studies in the fine arts allowed her to explore collage techniques incorporating her hand dyed Japanese papers worked into elaborate floral patterns. This would ultimately foreshadow a career in textiles having then enrolled in the Surface Pattern Design program at Syracuse University. The comprehensive training involved utilizing many mediums such as silkscreen and gouache to develop repeating imagery that could be used in a variety of applications such as fabric, wrapping paper, wall & floor coverings and dinnerware.
After graduating Cum Laude and receiving her BFA from Syracuse, she moved to NYC where for 10 years she held positions at Ametex and Schumacher Fabrics. She worked both as a colorist and designer of printed fabrics further advancing her keen sense of color and design aesthetic.

A change of scenery led her to Florida where she worked as a Project Assistant in an A & D firm helping to design high profile hospitality interiors. Anxious to return to a career in fabric, in 2007 she accepted the position as Custom Fabric Designer at Momentum Group and relocated to North Carolina.  It has proven to be a harmonious relationship melding her artistic sensibilities with the fast paced administrative side of managing and organizing custom projects.

Kristen continues to enjoy living between the mountains and the Outer Banks of North Carolina and keeps busy with whatever inspires her at any given moment.
