At Momentum Group, we are committed to environmental stewardship. We believe it is our responsibility to take care of our natural resources to ensure that they are available for current and future generations. We are investing in the research and development necessary to innovate industry-first products, source environmentally responsible materials and continue advancing the commercial textiles industry.

Silica was created to be the most sustainable alternative to vinyl. PVC free coated fabrics are better for the environment, safer for human health and longer lasting. Silica Prints are the latest innovative addition to the Silica family of products.

We are an active member of the Association for Contract Textiles (ACT), the definitive resource for contract textile information and education.

As of January 2010, Momentum Group's portfolio of fabrics has been designated GREENGUARD Certified. GREENGUARD certified products have low individual VOC levels, formaldehyde, respirable particles, ozone, and other pollutants. Certified products do not emit harmful levels of indoor air contaminants.

Recycled Fibers
Recycled fibers are made using less energy, less water consumption and produce less greenhouse gas emissions. We partnered with Unifi to bring a recycled polyester supply chain with certifiable quality to the international market.

Black & White Collection
Developed the first piece-dye, bouclé yarn made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester which created texture and color options previously unavailable in this type of content.   See The Black and White Collection

Recycled Privacy Curtains
Working closely with Unifi, the leading yarn supplier in the commercial textile industry, we invested in the R&D to introduce the industry's first recycled privacy curtain. See patterns Gradual, Joyn, Perennial and Vinea

Crypton Green®
Momentum Textiles was the first to launch Crypton Green® upholstery product to the market. Crypton Green® is produced in a world-class manufacturing facility utilizing renewable energy sources with an optimized, greener formulation without sacrificing any of the performance.   See Crypton Patterns

Hue
One of the first products in the industry to be converted to 100% post industrial recycled polyester. To this day remains one of Momentum Textiles’ best sellers.   See Hue

Natural Fibers
For natural fibers to be considered rapidly renewable, they must have a harvest cycle of less than 10 years. Natural fibers are rapidly renewable, 100% biodegradable, Greenguard certified and create clear, saturated color.

Blueprint Collection
A collaboration with Emanuela Frattini Magnusson, Blueprint is a collection of fine woven constructions made with rapidly renewable fibers, rendered in color combinations that challenge convention.   See The Blueprint Collection

Crossing Colors
A collaboration with Sheila Hicks, Crossing Colors is a collection of graphic patterns with broad colorlines made from rapidly renewable fibers.

As a leader in the contract textile market, Momentum Group seeks to continuously improve our work practices in order to carefully manage and minimize our environmental footprint. We strive to continually find innovative ways to reduce our overall environmental impact and carbon emissions by encouraging fuel efficient vehicles for employees, utilizing solar energy in our headquarters, initiating the memo sample return program and fabric tube recycling which cannot be gained through reduction and conservation.

100% of carbon emissions are offset through our partnership with The Conservation Fund. Since January 2010, Momentum Group has been offsetting its carbon emissions through a partnership with The Conservation Fund and the GoZero program. The Conservation Fund’s GoZero program enables individuals and companies to measure and offset their carbon dioxide emissions by planting trees and protecting forests. To date, Momentum Group has planted over 6,017 trees at the Lake Ophelia and Upper Ouachita National Wildlife Refuges in Louisiana that will offset 6,571 tons of carbon over their lifetime.

Net Energy Producer

  • Our corporate facility has been renovated and now includes solar panels, new HVAC systems, cool roof, insulation, lighting and double pane windows to maximize energy efficiency
  • We generate 3,000 Kwh more energy than what we use
  • This eliminates 85.2 tons of carbon annually which represents 44% of Momentum’s Irvine facility’s emissions and 11% of Momentum’s emissions company wide

Employee Transportation

  • High mileage vehicle incentive for all employees

Continuous Improvement of Operational Efficiencies

  • ISO 14001 certified 2009
  • Implementation of the “tube take-back program” so that 100% of all fabric tubes used in the warehouses are reclaimed from our customers and reused. 183,329 recycled tubes were used to fill orders in 2018
  • Motion activated lighting installed in all locations
  • Recycling of paper, tyvek, cardboard, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, plastic bags, batteries, toner, e-waste
  • Consolidated purchasing to ensure environmental impact and proper disposal is assessed
  • Implementation of the 2 Clicks memo sample return program

In 2018, employees served 1,553 hours on their own or at one of 12 planned events nationwide.
Established in 1990, this team of our employees is dedicated to making our community a better place to live and to helping those who need it most. In addition to our annual programs, this team selects various charitable events to participate in throughout the year. The following is a list of some of the programs we support:

The Common Thread for the Cure
The Common Thread for the Cure has been established to unite the furnishings industry in the battle against breast cancer. A percentage of our profits goes to the foundation.

American Cancer Society
Employees across the country participate in Relay for Life, Making Strides While Making Breakfast and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Through these events, we join in the national fundraising campaign to support research in finding a cure for cancer.

Feeding America and Food Banks Canada
In the spirit of the holiday season, we partner with Feeding America and Food Banks Canada to provide 30,000 meals across the nation.

Send Kids to Camp - A Program of the YMCA
We raise enough funds to send approximately 10 children to camp every summer. Funds are raised by recycling aluminum cans, employee donations for casual dress on Thursdays and through refreshments available for purchase in our cafeteria.

Big Sweep Waterway Clean Up
Employees gather together in High Point, North Carolina to remove trash and debris from rivers and waterways.

Share Our Selves (SOS)
Partnering with this charity, we hold food drives twice a year and "adopt" families during the holiday season. Together, with SOS, we reach out to families nearing poverty level in the Orange County area to help meet their basic needs.

Habitat for Humanity
Participation in building projects with this organization is done to assist them with their mission of eliminating poverty housing and homelessness from the world. Employees from our North Carolina, Michigan and California offices have participated in builds.

Coastal Clean Up
Volunteers at this event work with the California Coastal Commission to dispose of cigarette butts and other litter on the beaches. We gather together once a year to haul away 800 pounds of trash from the Laguna Beach shoreline.

Community Action Partnership of Orange County (CAPOC)
Employees volunteer to pack boxes of food to provide to senior citizens living on a low income. Together with CAPOC, we pack approximately 1200 boxes of food each time we volunteer.

Alzheimer's Association
The Orange County Memory Walk is part of a national movement to help those battling Alzheimer's and related memory loss disorders. Momentum Group employees volunteer to serve at this event to help raise money for the cause.

Feeding the Homeless
Employees volunteer to assist a local church to provide meals for the homeless in Orange County. Volunteers meet at lunch once a month to prepare food and help sustain those who need help most.
